Hi, I’m Ju, and This Is Why Fit-ish Over 30 Exists

Hi friends! 👋

I’m Juliana, the person behind Fit-ish Over 30. In other words, this blog is for adults who want to feel good in their bodies without turning wellness into a second full-time job.

So, if you’ve ever groaned getting off the couch (hello, knee crackles), skipped the gym and felt guilty, or eaten pizza on a Friday and wondered if you “ruined everything,” you’re in the right place. After all, you didn’t ruin anything.

So, who am I?

First of all, I’m Brazilian, I live in Canada, I’m a proud mom of three teenagers, and I’m building a life in a second language, which is humbling and funny in equal parts.

For example, most days you’ll find me:

  • Balancing overnight shifts and the never-ending quest for good sleep
  • Playing drums in a local Brazilian Maracatu band 🥁
  • Hitting the gym, not to punish myself, but simply to keep my energy up

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, my philosophy is dead simple: quick, stress-free meals, prepped ahead in containers, without turning dinner into a math problem.

I also learned the hard way that the 30s feel different. First, my energy changed. Then my body did too. In addition, my schedule got fuller. However, the “perfect wellness routine” I kept seeing online just wasn’t built for real life.

Why did I start this blog?

Because, quite simply, I got tired of two things:

  • Extreme fitness rules that make you count every bite and work out for two hours a day
  • The guilt that comes with not following them perfectly

Instead, I wanted something simpler, something I could actually keep doing on a tired Tuesday.

So, here’s where “Fit-ish” comes from. In other words, it means being healthy in a way that’s realistic, sustainable, and kind to yourself. Not perfect, just ish. Because ish is more than enough. 💚

What will you find here?

Here, you’ll find simple ideas I’m learning and testing in my own real life:

  • Daily Movement: gentle, low-impact ways to move that fit into a busy day
  • Real-Life Food: quick meals and snacks for people who don’t have time to overthink dinner
  • Sleep & Recovery: rest, stress, and taking care of your body (and your sanity)
  • Everyday Gear: the practical little things that make routines easier

Also, a quick note: I’m not a doctor, and nothing on this blog is medical advice. I’m just a friend sharing what works in real life, but always check with a professional about your own health.

Let’s do this together

Think of this blog as a coffee chat with a friend who gets it. There’s no judgment and no pressure, just lots of small wins.

So grab your coffee (or tea, I don’t judge), look around, and then start with one tiny step. Because yes, that counts. It always counts.

Finally, I’d love to hear from you: what’s the one thing about “being healthy” that you’re most tired of hearing? Tell me in the comments! 👇
